What sort of Church are we ?
In all that we do, we try to keep Jesus central. We believe that God has given us His message in the Bible, so we take seriously
what it has to say to us today. We believe we have good news about God’s love and so we try to share it with
other people. Find out more about
what we believe.
So what is
the difference between us and other churches ? As a Baptist church, we do two main things differently: · the members of the church are themselves responsible for how the church run · we believe that following Jesus is something for a person to make up their own mind about, so we only baptise people who are old enough to do so for themselves
Worshipping together
The Church meets together for worship on Sunday morning and
evening. We have a communion
service twice a month and prayer for healing on one evening a
month.

Finding out about the Christian
faith
We run an Alpha Course three times a year. It’s a chance to find
out what the Christian message is, in an informal,
non-threatening, environment (over a meal).
Growing as a Christian
The Cell Group and Fellowship Groups provide a means to gain
support from other Christians,
study the Bible, pray together and witness to our friends and
neighbours.
Young people
We have
Boys
and Girls Brigade companies in the Church, for young people aged 5-18. There
is also a youth club (WoPaBloC) for those aged 11-14. On two Sunday evenings
each month, those aged 14-18 meet at After Eights for fellowship.
Other activities
For
pre-school age, there is a Carers and Toddlers group
with sessions
on Monday and Wednesday mornings
For senior citizens, the Luncheon
Club serves up
a meal
and a
presentation by a
visiting
speaker
on Tuesdays.
The
Thursday
Fellowship meets for prayer,
praise
and a speaker
each Thursday. For urgent prayer requests, we operate a prayer chain. |
