Care and Compassion, Goa
The Charitable Trust was established in the year 2002 at Panaji, Ilhas, Goa, to take care of deprived children and give them all the care possible. Mr. Prince Aaron Golden and his wife Mrs. Sujatha Prince came across several destitute children who were orphans and from broken homes. They had a vision and burden in October 1998 to do something for these children. So Prince and his wife started praying that God would enable them to start a home for these deprived children and give them the best in life like any other privileged child.
Charity working to bring an end to poverty around the world – tackling its root causes as well as its effects
The Kalji Trust was founded in 2006 to work amongst the poor and destitute in Goa, India and to assist the work of the Christian churches in the region.
Right now millions of Christians are at risk of persecution around the world. Open Doors is active in around 45 countries, supplying Bibles, leadership training, Scripture-based literacy programmes and support for Christians suffering for their faith. And we want to continue to encourage the church here to play its part: that means not only responding to the needs of the persecuted church, but also learning from their experience of what it means to follow Jesus.
Tearfund is a leading relief and development charity, working in partnership with Christian agencies and churches worldwide to tackle the causes and effects of poverty.
Youth with a Mission (YWAM)
Youth With A Mission is an international volunteer movement of Christians from many backgrounds, cultures and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), their purpose is simply to know God and to make Him known. When YWAM began in 1960, their main focus was giving young people opportunities to demonstrate the love of Jesus to the whole world, according to His command in Mark 16:15. Today, they still focus on youth, but have members (known as “YWAMers”) of almost every age and many of their short-term efforts have grown into long-term endeavours that have impacted lives and nations. YWAM has a decentralized structure that encourages new vision and the exploration of new ways to change lives through training, convey the message of the gospel and care for those in need. They are currently operating in more than 1000 locations in over 150 countries, with a staff of nearly 16,000.
